[The Hague, June 10th 2025] – CSIRT.global, the international volunteer-led nonprofit organization dedicated to proactive cybersecurity response and public-interest vulnerability research, proudly announces the appointment of Victor Gevers as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Gevers, one of the organization’s co-founders and a long-time board member, brings a lifetime of commitment to ethical hacking and public-interest cybersecurity to his new leadership role. Known for his work in building bridges between hackers, researchers, and institutions worldwide, Gevers now steps forward to lead CSIRT.global into a new era of global collaboration, digital trust, and rapid-response capability.
"I'm incredibly honored to step into the role of CEO at CSIRT.global," said Gevers.
“From co-founding the organization to serving on the board and working alongside so many dedicated volunteers, this mission has always been close to my heart. CSIRT.global represents a community committed to making the digital world safer — not just through technical expertise, but through trust, collaboration, and shared purpose. Some missions may seem impossible at first — until the right team comes together. So I need you to trust me one last time. Let’s keep building something meaningful.”
Eward Driehuis, Chair of CSIRT.global, praised the transition as both natural and energizing for the community:
"Today is a good day!" Driehuis said. “After years of co-founding, board work, and relentless volunteering, Victor is stepping up as CEO. He’s poured his heart into the international hacker community, and now he’ll channel that energy into leading CSIRT.global. I’m thrilled to support him in this next phase as we continue to grow our international network of cyber firefighters.”
CSIRT.global, the sister organization to the Dutch Institute for Vulnerability Disclosure (DIVD), has rapidly grown into a trusted global network of ethical hackers, researchers, and incident response experts. The organization leads initiatives like Project Global Universities, tackling vulnerabilities in higher education institutions worldwide.
The appointment of Gevers signals CSIRT.global’s continued commitment to its core values: openness, inclusion, transparency, and the belief that meaningful security starts with trust — between researchers, institutions, and the people they serve.
